New Year, New Me

Hello Readers!

It has been quite some time. I am sure you have seen blogs go from active to inactive and anywhere in between. I was never a truly prolific blogger, I don’t always have something to say or anything newsworthy to share. I am just a resident enjoying her SecondLife and who happens to like to blog about it sometimes. I recently celebrated my Rez Day…9 years in SL! I wanted to do a post, but the stars did not align right for that. I have spent half of my 9 years in SL exploring and learning how to role play, then I spent the second half of those 9 years breaking into the SL modeling scene. I am very comfortable with both and enjoy both sides of my SL to this day. I do feel the familiar urge to do something new with my SL, perhaps I get that urge every 4 years or so…who knows.

What has captured my interest of late is all chatter about Bento. If you don’t know what I am talking about you will have to visit Strawberry Singh’s blog because as always, she does an excellent job explaining things. Between her and Wicca Merlin, I got a crash course in Bento. As a model in SL your brand is important. Your uniqueness is your brand, which includes your face. It was this line of thinking that kept me from getting on the mesh head bandwagon. There was little way to modify them beyond skin and I just couldn’t accept that as me. I was very impressed with my fellow models who were able to work skins and layers to their advantage and make their own unique face, but I still figured anything I would do would still not give me my own unique face so I held off.

Now that Bento has arrived and I watched my dear friend Wicca (my mesh head queen) work various heads (Bento and not) and share her experiences with me. I felt confident after a few conversations and screen shares with Wicca to dive in and give making my own unique face with a Bento head a go. I was so excited to use a Bento head that I went for the Bento hands too! Both were just the refresh I needed. While I love my avatar, I knew it was time to give her a make over, which can be both time consuming and frustrating. Not this time! I have a new Bento me now and am very pleased with the results. Just like when I finally found Silly’s face (that she has had for 3ish years), I felt that same feeling once I had the right skin on and had tweaked the sliders to my liking. I know this is likely not the final look for the new Bento Silly, but I am very pleased with her beginnings!

I love that I can smile now! I smile so much in RL and I am called Silly for a reason in SL so there is bound to be smiles and laughing when I am around!

I have some other things in mind for my SL in 2017, and I hope to be back with another post soon to talk all about that!

Thanks for continuing to read!

Summer at the Beach

Body Art 072215 pm

Hello Readers!

Going to the beach has always been a production for me in RL, from when I was a child to now in taking children (and dogs) to the beach. I always wish I lived closer to the beach so it wouldn’t have to be this way. I have avoided the beach for years because of this (and traffic), then this summer I threw out that mindset and just went. I didn’t make a production of it, I simply allowed myself and my son only one bag each and we had to make that work. And it did! We packed our one bag of only what was needed, hopped in the car and went. It was surprisingly easy and without any hassle at all. I really do have to kick myself for so many years not going to the beach because of all my previous experiences. All it took was a change in mindset.

So here I am at the beach thanks to KaTink‘s “Hello Summer 7” background. I am also in a KaTink pose called Demi 10.

The Body Art Hunt is still going on this month and I am wearing quite a few great designs from that event. First I have the striking “Desperado” tattoo from White Widow. I am completely on my mesh body bandwagon right now and recently invested in the Lara body from Maitreya having been a long time Physique user. I am not crazy enough like some of my friends to buy every mesh body out there (you know who you are), but I have a feeling I may end up trying the Belleza too. I really love curves and one of the Belleza shapes has curves in spades! So as I was saying, I am wearing the Lara body and I love how the Desperado tattoo looks on it. In addition to the Desperado tattoo I have on one of the eye makeups from Zibska called “Celia Carnivale 04.”

And while you sadly cannot see my fabulous nails in the photo, I am wearing another Body Art Hunt item from Dark Passions, Koffin Nails “Carnival Colors.”

And lastly, we have my fun skirt. A new release from Legal Insanity called “Amya.” Once again I must profess my love for HUDs and thank Datrip for including them in his creations. The underwear of the skirt has a BUNCH of options, and I had fun clicking through them all. While the skirt is not available in a Maitreya specific size, the standard mesh sizes are workable with the right alphas enabled.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope you are having an amazing summer where ever you are!

I love when items that fit on my Physique are offered and when I opened the FAD offering from Zibska I found just that! She included a fitmesh version of her hud controled flirty romper called “Tina.” There is a subtle shimmer texture on the romper that really calls for a closer look, and really adds to that fun summer feel. I added a necklace from FAD by Secret Love called “Ribbons and Pearls” as well as some delicious hair called ” Pony Shades” from Ashmoot. Oh, and there are the fun sugar coated nail polishes from Pumby, also available at The FAD Event. I of course had to add the latest from Glamistry…a flat sandal called “Columbine.”

Alone in the Desert

FAD 061515_001e pm

Hello Readers!

I have a bit more from the new FAD Fashion Event to share with you. I know I have expressed my love of options before, and I would think many would agree. I enjoy playing with options and seeing how outfits sort of fall together. I started with the Trinite shorts and top.  They come in quite a wide array of colors so they are just made for mixing and matching. Once I opened up the Bergdis jewelry set from Zibska (complete with cuffs, necklace and earrings), I used the HUD to set it to more of a turquoise look and selected the best Trinite shorts and top to match. The whole ensemble gave me a sort of desert feel so I put on my Glamistry Lantana ankle boots and a hat/hair combo from Argrace and I was all set!

I am always a fan of Nailed It and her polish set for the “Bird of Prey” round of FAD is fabulous. She of course had a shade to match my look, and my favorite go-to makeup is Madrid Solo, I am wearing the London Liner set in bronze. My poses are from the always fierce Linda Reddevil of Devilish Poses.

There is plenty of time to make this round of FAD, but don’t delay, you don’t want to miss out!

Are my roots showing?

Hello Readers!

I am SO thrilled to be an Artizana blogger.  When I think of my own personal style I think color and boldness and Dainie’s creations are BOTH of those things!  So today I bring you a couple of her creations plus a bit of KaTink.  It is such a treat to get to blog for Marit.  I have enjoyed her work for quite some time and after seeing the latest blogger box she sent out….DANG! You all are going to be getting a sampling of the latest from KaTink over my next several posts, putting it all in one would be a mistake!

Now that I am on a bit of a styling challenge break, I am more at liberty to style my way.  Being Latina, I tend toward bright colors, big jewelry, and fun patterns.  Oh and big hair… I LOVE big hair!
