So here I am again… tho I never really left. I have been posting to Flickr exclusively, primarily because I want to just take photos and not have to be in blogger mode with links and descriptions…unless it is for Wicca of course, I am her blogger manager after all. In the end I am not a SL Fashion Blogger in the purest sense … sure I like to take SL photos and share details about them, but I am not getting a bunch of free items, so the pressure of all the links and details is off. In the end this blog is my own, and really a journal of my Second Life. So I will share the highlights of what I am wearing in my photos, but at this point in my Second Life (10 years at the end of this month) its more about the stories behind the photos, than an advertisement for clothing. Should I have something on that you are interested in and I didn’t share the details, just shoot me an IM in SL (legacy name: Silly Avro) and I will happily reply with details as soon as I can.
The photo in this post is my thank you to Wicca for gifting me with a Bound Box. I had seen this dress by Narcisse in several photos on Flickr and I just knew I would love it when I put it on. I am a die-hard Truth Hair lover so of course I am wearing some Truth. The rings are by Codex, my newest favorite for Bento rings. The photo is shot in Elysion, another favorite of mine. It isn’t just a pretty sim, they have social events as well. Most of which my RL makes it hard to attend. As always, thanks for reading.
I know it has been a while. I am sure at some point all SL bloggers are like “Sorry everyone, RL!” I seem to say that a lot, but its true. RL is the reason I don’t always blog, which is why I retired from regular blogging so I wasn’t letting designers down. Instead I help Wicca manage her bloggers and do the other things I enjoy in SL with the time RL allows.
I find SL photography to be soothing and I have taken some photos recently that I haven’t placed here on my blog. I suppose I could insert them now in case you missed them, they were all inspired thanks to the latest round of VISIONAIRE. I love being reminded of what tools are available to us in SL to create something we find appealing. I cannot recommend VISIONAIRE enough. It is an incredible experience. Even as someone who has been through it a few times, you always come out with something new each time. What is cool is graduates are allowed to attend future rounds of VISIONAIRE courses at no extra cost and many graduates take advantage of that perk.
My latest image (below) was inspired because I changed my skin again and because I love rompers. I loved my Skinnery skin (above) but I wanted a bit more from the eyebrows…like being able to have a no brow feature, which that particular skin did not have. So now I am wearing an ItGirls skin which I am loving. I pulled out one of my favorite rompers and caught up on all the past Powder Packs for Lelutka and came out with this:
So now let me get bloggie with this…
head | Lelutka Simone
body | Maitreya Lara
skin | ItGirls
hair | Grande (with bangs) by Truth Hair
make up | alaskametro<3 “Lumina” makeup palette – Powder Pack July (Lelutka)
necklace | BALACLAVA!! Tail Feather Necklace (green pheasant) [for FLF 2013.10.04]
romper | :: Purple Moon :: Who Romper Bohemia
pose | Devilish Poses by Linda Reddevil
I didn’t take a close up of the nails but they are by my favorite nail polish designer Giela Delpaso of Nailed It. The set I am wearing is the beach set and it is currently at On9. It also comes with a water set and they work with a lot of hands so chances are they work with your mesh hands!
In my last post I alluded to trying out some new things this coming year in SL and one of those things is having a son! Well, I have a son in RL and he has long been interested in SL and quite the lil gamer himself, so I made him an account so that he and I could experience SL together! There are a few things I have in mind for him, and I won’t share those things just yet as I am not sure how many of them will materialize, but if they do, my son and I are going to be cracking up quite a bit. He really is my lil sidekick and I love him to bits. Made sense to me to share Second Life with him where we could have even more fun!
Since I was all excited about my Bento makeover I was just as excited to make my son a cool looking, age-appropriate avatar! I admit I was kinda scratching my head on this one as there sure are a lot of toddler avatars and toddler fashion, but no where near the same offerings for more teenaged looking avatars. Knowing how much Trouble Dethly of PENUMBRA/Eclipse & Spotlight (such a busy guy!) supports the toddler community in SL, I figured he was the right guy to reach out to (not to mention he is super cool and my bro) and I was right! He connected me with Kenzie Thomas Numbers (mckenzieky) of MESHMERIZED and that is all it took! My son’s avatar is perfect and he has some fun kid appropriate clothing. My son’s skin and shape are from MESHMERIZED as well as his cute lil lip tattoo. In this photo, I wanted him to dress up and not clash with Mommy’s outfit so I took him over to ISON and got him a few things including the Scoopneck Sweater he is wearing. His hair is Boys & Girls 27 from Dura.
Once my son’s avatar was ready and I handed it over to my son to play with, I asked him if he might want to model like mommy and he was like “YEAH!” Next step, launching my son’s teen modeling career!
Thanks for reading! Oh, and in case you are wondering what I am wearing, I pulled out some oldies but goodies from my inventory! I am wearing a Truth Hair called Soliel from 2013 and a Valentina E Floral Bohemian Coat from 2015! I am also wearing Kunglers Lakshmi Necklace and Jeune by Rowne Emeline Leather Jumpsuit. The pose is by KaTink and called “Besties for Life” (so true) and the photo was shot on the KaTink sim.
I am often invited to judge Mr. & Miss Virtual World challenges…and that is not a brag or anything, just something I enjoy doing. As a model who had put herself out there to be judged by others on many occasions, I feel my experiences make me qualified to fairly judge others who are putting themselves out there in competitions. I am always flattered to be asked and always look forward to going. I take care in making sure I am presentable. As a former Miss, I firmly believe I have a standard to uphold. So when looking for something of quality to wear, it is no surprise that I default to Wicca’s Wardrobe. As any who know me or read my blog at all, Wicca is a longtime friend of mine and while we have not made an official SL relationship out of it, I consider her a sister. She and her man Red made my country costume when I was competing in 2015 and I LOVED it. So Wicca and MVW still go hand in hand for me. Besides, while Wicca has no “Face of Wicca’s Wardrobe” or anything, I know I am the Wicca’s Wardrobe Runway Princess! One of the other things I enjoy about judging MVW events is seeing friends that I don’t always see…like Pam Astonia! Pammy cracks me up and is just so talented and lovely…chatting with her is always a perk of judging!
The photo above was my look for the 2nd and final auditions of this round of Miss Virtual World 2017 and here are the details:
RL is allowing me to get my blog on! So here I am with one of my full figured role play avatars, wearing a recent release from Wicca’s Wardrobe. I LOVE that Wicca is able to design for all Belleza sizes as I personally prefer Freya…the curvier the better I say! So here are all the head to toe details:
I know I am not alone in my love of my mesh body. It is exciting to me to watch the trend in clothing designing in SL at present. It really is getting increasingly common for a designer to create an item that is not only standard size, but made for quite a variety of the mesh bodies available on the grid right now. Dead Dollz has always been a versatile and creative brand. When I opened the envelope to find Astra for the Vintage and Cool Fair, I about fell over. This dress looks amazing on Lara and comes in a variety of colors. Here is all you need to know about Astra:
It is the exclusive item at Vintage & Cool which started August 21st and ends September 4th
Astra is an original Maitreya Compatible Fitmesh creation +Applier
Available in 6 colors: Blue – Black – Petroleum – Purple – Red – White
Cost is L$350
Get yours before its too late!

Seriously…my name isn’t Silly for nothin’! Anyway, I was at Truth looking at new hairs like I do and fell in love with this one called Rumi, tho I think it should be called Chola. I have seen a lot of cholos and cholas in my lifetime and for the non-Spanish speaking, a chola is a female gangster or thug or even the girlfriend of a cholo (gangster or thug). Now you have had your Spanish lesson for the day! So this hair made me think of a chola therefore I had to style like one. I love the attitude of Legal Insanity so of course it was a perfect match for my chola feeling. I am wearing the Bettie Corset (melon version). It comes in sizes for several mesh bodies (Belleza, Maitreya, Slink) as well as a fitted version in addition to the standard sizes. I have to say I love seeing more and more designers, provide sizes specifically aimed at mesh bodies. Mesh bodies are taking over the grid! And mi barrio is courtesy of KaTink, Cracked Den 17.
