Feeling Purple

Hello Readers!

It has been much too long!  As I sort through the many wonderful items I have been getting as a blogger for the Fantasy Gacha Carnival (going on NOW) and The Style Icon Fashion Fair (Opening February 7th) I had a lil something arrive from the very first designer to take me on as a blogger…Romy Dash of Marshmallows.  Of course I had to open it right away and I loved what I found.

Marshmallows::Zina Dress-Purple (also available in blue, brown, grey and green)

This lovely dress will be available at the next round of the Kustom9.

I had to put on my Plum make up again by {MUA} as it went so perfectly!

Style Icon Fair_BSD

I love shoes and I was thrilled to be sent this lovely pair by {{BSD Design Studio}} called “Meditrina” in black leather.  This sexy pair of heels will be available at The Style Icon Fashion Fair, organized and hosted by Legal Insanity.

“Legal Insanity welcomes you to ‘The Style Icon’ Fashion Fair. Show us your legendary style icon from the past to the present.

In 2014, we start off the year paying homage to those who have inspired us, whose style has influenced a generation, we all have one who is yours? We have challenged the designers to create a collection inspired by those who have made a mark in their lives or have shaped their fashion style. They are to make it their own of course, not to copy because no one likes a copycat. We want to see their interpretations.

Join us and express your personal style and celebrate those who have influenced the fashion world!”

There are always so many wonderful fashion events to attend in SL, but do be sure to pick up Romy’s wonderful dress, visit the Fantasy Gacha Carnival and save a few Lindens for The Style Icon Fashion Fair!

jenny_003_frontI enjoyed taking these shots in the one room in my house that is furnished!  I always seem to set up my lil desk first (not that it is the same every time), no matter where I end up calling home, I must have a desk!  Perhaps now as I blog and sort my inventory I will set up the other parts of my house and blog them too!

As always, thank you for reading and SLurls to the stores on my blog can be found on my SLurls page.  Also if there is something you are interested in on any of my posts that I did not credit, I welcome your IM or email.  You can see how to reach me on my Contact Info page.

Walking with Shanina

Hello Readers!

I am happily cleaning my inventory and attempting to stay on top of designer’s latest releases.  Today I have some fun from Chandni Kondji of Hopscotch.  Up first I have a pose and prop set called “Fancy a walk?”

I had read recently that Mad City was done over for the holidays so I thought I would go there for this shoot. I was not disappointed, it was perfect.

Next I would like to share the latest group gift from Natalie Wells of Deesses Skins.  She gifted us all with Shanina in 8 tones. I chose the skin tone I normally wear in her skin line “ice frappe” and added one of her lipsticks called ” decadent.” I then outfitted myself in some LivGlam, and accessorized with Emotions and Yummy.

I am including the vendor photos of Chandni’s other props from Hopscotch as I just didn’t think I could shoot them any better!  Her creativity and whimsy amaze me.

Fiocco di Neve

Hello Readers!

For me it is Christmas Eve and I am enjoying some time off at home.  So what do I do with my free time? Catch up on some blogging of course!  I really do enjoy blogging, and I was thrilled to be accepted as a blogger for The Couturier’s Docks!  I received this amazing holiday design entitled “Fiocco di neve” (snowflake in Italian) from Aliza Karu of AD Creations and fell in love with it right away.

couturiers dock AD DE_004_full~

It is so festive and couture.  The sparkles on the skirt are animated so they twinkle, clearly something my photo cannot capture, so you must go get one of your own!

Every angle of this wonderful design is a treat for the eye. “Fiocco di Neve” is a limited edition item by AD Creations for The Couturier’s Docks, so do hurry on over and get one for yourself, you won’t regret it.

And there is just the right amount of flesh on display to make it a treat for everyone around you!  Speaking of flesh, I am wearing the latest group gift from Natalie Wells of Deesses Skins called “Faith.”  I have been a long time fan of her skin. I began my career as a model with her skin which I still wear to this day (though in varying skin tones).  I love the ethnic feel she brings to her work.  I have said before on my blog as well as to friends, that it is important to me to be a model of color in SL as I am Puerto Rican in RL.  Being Puerto Rican means there is a bit of European, indigenous, and African in our look, and I think Natalie’s skins capture this perfectly for me.

I would like to wish all of my readers a very Merry Christmas.  I am sure I will be posting again before New Years so I will save that wish for later. *chuckles*  I hope your Christmas/holiday season is filled with much joy, love, and laughter.

Oh and do be sure to visit my SLurls page for your shopping needs.

Berry’s Winter Meme

Hello Readers!

It has been far too long since I did one of Berry’s Memes.  There are a few reasons for that. One I am very critical of my photo skills as they are not always the greatest, two I am not sure I always have something worth adding to the meme conversation, and three I have a wonderful collection of designers I blog for and they keep me plenty busy when RL isn’t already making that so!

Berry made a comment on her blog about people being glad she post memes.  I am not always the most vocal when it comes to posting comments, but I really do value the memes (not to mention HER ENTIRE BLOG) too even though I don’t do them all.  I like the way they make us think and the thoughtful posts they get from her readers.  Maybe during my winter break I can catch up on some.  Until then here goes Berry’s Winter Meme!

Meme Instructions: Take a wintery picture and/or answer the following questions about the season. Don’t forget to leave a link to your post in the comments and share your picture in the Blog Memes Flickr Group.

  1. What is the December/Winter season like where you live? – I live in Southern California, so much like Berry’s Florida, the temp here this time of year ranges from the 50s at the coldest and well up into the 80s.  The wide range of temps is probably why I was sick this week. *laughs* I rather enjoy the cloudy days and bits of rain we get this time of year as well as the overall chill in the air that mild California winters bring.
  2. When you think of winter, what’s the first thing that pops into your head? – Big Bear.  We go to Big Bear every winter to ski, snowboard, and tube.  We do it more so for my son now, but being up in a cabin in Big Bear while it snows is just so magical.
  3. Have you ever played any extreme winter sports? – Extreme? Nah.  I just do the usual as mentioned above.  I am not too keen on the injuries “extreme” behaviors can bring.
  4. What do you like most about this season? – The cool temperatures, clouds, and rain.  I love the summer because I get these wonderfully long breaks, but I HATE HEAT.  I have said to my family many times I live here because they brought me here and I have set down roots so I am kinda stuck here.  One day I will move out…likely to the Pacific Northwest.  I went to college there and loved it.
  5. Do you celebrate Christmas, Hannukkah, Kwanzaa or another holiday during this time of year? – We celebrate Christmas here, but more in the general family sort of way, not an overly religious one.  I enjoy the Thanksgiving/Christmas season for the way it brings family and friends together.

And for my wintery photo I will reuse my Face of Romance Couture entry taken by my lovely friend Nariko Okawa.  I loved styling this for many reasons, one of which is that I was fully embracing the feel of the season.  I don’t know what it is, but I am always a bit self conscious of my photos around Berry, though I am sure she doesn’t mean to make me feel that way. *chuckles*

Soy Boricua

Hello Readers!

I really enjoy styling challenges.  At times however I rather miss my own intrinsic sense of style, and I think I have to get better at always having a bit of it in my stylings when possible, just to stay true to myself.  One of the things I wanted to be sure to do when modeling in SL was to retain the Latina I am.  The dress from Charltina’s I am blogging today helped remind me of that with its curve hugging fit, bold texturing and sexy slit.  This dress also comes with a train and a hat, so there are certainly some options in making it all your own.
