Gotta love summer time! I am enjoying a bit of time to myself so that means I get to play in SL. I am still on my Latin summer love kick and Latin tunes dominate my playlist. One of Purple Moon’s latest releases fit the mood perfectly. So let me do the blogger thing and lay it all out…

I have been a busy bee in and out of SL. Life is good, no complaints here, though I do miss blogging regularly. Today I had one of those blogging opportunities and had to capitalize on it. With all the activity in my lives right now, it is a challenge to get those quiet times where I can just be creative…those are times I need in order to style and blog with any decency at all. After a morning of some styling I scratched my creative itch. Sadly it wasn’t for anything I could share on my blog, as it was a casting styling, but trust me if I am not selected I will show everyone! At the tail end of the process I had one of my newest friends in SL come into my ims. I have to say that after 8 years in SL I am always pleased when I can make new friends. This particular friend is a pose maker. I had just bought ALL his poses before meeting him (thanks Miele Tarantal) and once we had met we hit it off like we had been pals for years. I love when that happens. In our initial conversation, after I had fangirled all over his ims praising his poses and witty names of them (I love clever people), Chance Greatrix of DARE poses promised me his next pose sets on the house. I was thrilled, but I would never expect him to really do that. Not that he is dishonest in anyway, but I don’t mind paying for quality items in SL. I have had many fun conversations with Chance since that initial chat, so I thought there would be more fun banter when he came into my ims today…but instead there were gifts! Chance has two new pose sets out…Flowy and Face Hands. So here I am in Flowy 5, falling fashionably into bed! Thanks Chance! I hope your poses are already set up in your store because I am telling folks about them!
It has been quite some time! I few things have changed for me in RL (for the better) and I needed to take a step back from blogging. I honestly have missed it. It is a much needed creative outlet. I wanted to make sure and post one last time in 2015. I don’t know why that was so important to me…perhaps a bit of closure on another great year.
I have spent a good deal of this month looking forward. My career as an educator in RL is going in a new and exciting direction…one I have wanted for a few years now. In SL I have taken on more administrative duties…my position with SCALA Models Management has been broadened, and I have come to work for my dear friend Wicca Merlin as her General Manager for Wicca’s Wardrobe. I still manage to get on the runway and show up in print from time to time, which I enjoy greatly. I never thought I would feel like the ‘old guard’ when it came to SL modeling, but I suppose I am. I have had my run at various competitions and actually have enjoyed being on the judging end of competitions this year. Things really have come full circle and I couldn’t be more pleased.
For many years in SL I have had my own homestead. I have enjoyed having it and sharing it with friends. I realized recently that I miss the interactions with others…the live music, dancing, and games that I had long associated with my earliest days of SL. I suppose I have never outgrown a longing for those sorts of activities and a sense of community, even when I thought I had. I decided to give up my homestead and move into The Grove and I couldn’t be more excited. I know The Grove has been around for quite some years. Friends of mine have lived there at some point, and I am glad to find a few that still do.
I was sorting my massive inventory when I realized I had nothing to wear. It sounded incredibly dumb to say that, but it was true. I have so many items from years ago that are just obsolete and I know I won’t wear. I have absolutely fallen in love with mesh bodies and I wanted to wear something that fit my Lara. So I managed to find something to wear and decided to hit my favorites bar, curious to see which SLurls still worked, since I haven’t been shopping in SL in a bit either. I first went to the Thrift Shop, or thought I had. It turned out to be the FROST Fashion Fair and I loved having a look around. I have no idea how many more days it is open, but I found a fair amount of goodies there.

Dead Dollz has another sexy lil number available at the new round of We ♥ RP that just opened on September 4th. Kiddo’s latest creation is called O-Ren and comes in white, red, pink, blue, black and aqua.
I am using the Exposeur set called “Girl at the Window” and have added Glamistry heels (Hyacinth), the Fearless wrist cuffs by *BOOM* and Helga by ICONIC.
Round 4 of the FAD Fashion Event is now open and the theme is Vintage Haze. There are loads of lovely items to choose from. For my first look for this round I chose Wicca’s uniquely crafted Emilia Hat, the sexy mesh body loving Kaylanie lace dress, and the Deidre shoes by Ghee. My friend and sim squatter Nariko commented that I looked ready to go to the opera! A super sexy opera perhaps… 😉
Don’t forget that each round of the FAD Fashion Event has a styling contest where the winner gets free gifts from that round’s participating designers. Visit the event for more details.

Seriously…my name isn’t Silly for nothin’! Anyway, I was at Truth looking at new hairs like I do and fell in love with this one called Rumi, tho I think it should be called Chola. I have seen a lot of cholos and cholas in my lifetime and for the non-Spanish speaking, a chola is a female gangster or thug or even the girlfriend of a cholo (gangster or thug). Now you have had your Spanish lesson for the day! So this hair made me think of a chola therefore I had to style like one. I love the attitude of Legal Insanity so of course it was a perfect match for my chola feeling. I am wearing the Bettie Corset (melon version). It comes in sizes for several mesh bodies (Belleza, Maitreya, Slink) as well as a fitted version in addition to the standard sizes. I have to say I love seeing more and more designers, provide sizes specifically aimed at mesh bodies. Mesh bodies are taking over the grid! And mi barrio is courtesy of KaTink, Cracked Den 17.
It doesn’t come in mesh body sizes, but the standard mesh sizes work well and it has a HUD! I do love HUDs and the increased options they provide. It was so hard to choose between the textures! In the end I chose this one because of the cute lil birdy…it made me think of Twitter! I coupled it with the Raven jewelry from Modern Couture.
The Lucy Jumpsuit has coordinating heels, aptly named the Lucy heels. There was no HUD for these, but look at them, love the straps! Oh and do notice my finely polished nails, those are courtesy of PUMBY who has an awesome assortment of brightly colored polishes for Slink and Maitreya perfectly matched to the theme of Tropical Nights.
