Today, November 26, 2014, marks seven years for me in Second Life…and that is just on this avi! In reality I have been in SL just a lil over seven years if we go by my original avi, but Silly Avro wasn’t born much after her so it is all good! I have a feeling this post will be a long one…so consider yourself warned!
I dug back in my inventory and my earliest image of myself was 2009. That is easily explained. Silly was not my primary avatar for many years. I came to SL as an educator and used Silly to explore the grid anonymously as my original avatar was very clearly connected to the RL me. She started out “the girl next door” for anyone who remembers that avatar from back in the day. She was a few things after that, but finally became the model I wanted to be back in May 2013. I have made friends in SL before modeling, and was lucky to find Collin, Lark, Liat, and Geths…people who are still close to me today. Through SL modeling however the amount of wonderful, creative, sincere, and amazing people I have gotten to meet and call friend has been exponential.
I think it is quite appropriate that Silly’s Rez Day is so close to Thanksgiving because I am certainly thankful for all those who have believed in me and supported me along the way. This blog post is dedicated to all of my friends and the designers who have believed in me, encouraged me, welcomed me into their ‘fashion armies’ ((Kiddo)) and blogger families, and have been patient with me when my blogging gets slow due to RL or Miss Virtual World.
First, I am thankful to my SL mom Discovering Destiny (aka Lark) for being one of my oldest friends on the grid. She has known me across all my avatars, in role play and out. She is am amazing woman and has an amazing store. With as busy as I have been with Miss Virtual World, my blogging has slowed temporarily but I wanted to be sure to take a moment to highlight the most recent work of the friends I blog for.
*All the photos used are the creations and property of the designers.
Lark makes so many colors of her lovely outfits I recommend buying a few and mixing it up. I did with chocolate and cream and really enjoyed the result. I hope to be able to photograph it soon!

Legal Insanity was the sponsor of my graduation from AVENUE Models Academy back in July 2013 and the first to take me on as a blogger. I love the many looks of this brand. Working with Trip and Manon has been a treat.

Kiddo is one of my very favorite dress makers. I remember when she honored me with an invite to her blogger group. It was a year ago at the 2Lei event. 2Lei 2014 is going on now through the 30th.
The above dress is called Margaery and is available at We ❤ RP.
The above dress is Pola made special for The Attic, going on now.
I love how each designer I blog for has a special place in my memory and experience. Artizana is no different. I had the pleasure of meeting Dainie Fraina as a part of Colour of Couture. I was thrilled to be named the winner of a challenge we had in honor of her brand and have enjoyed the friendship that has developed since. She has asked me a few times to be on vendors for her and I am always flattered and thrilled by that. Shoots with her are always so much fun! Below is the most recent time she asked me to be on a vendor, and she asked for male Silly as well! I love being able to offer that to designers and blog both male and female fashions.
Dainie has a sparkly new store up too! You should pay her a visit, you won’t be disappointed!
Here is her latest:
KaTink has been a long time favorite of mine, and I am sure they are for many bloggers. I was thrilled when Marit asked me to join her blogger team and am always looking forward to the next blogger kit…chock full of cool new backgrounds, poses, or props!
Now I don’t know if I am supposed to give away who is designing for me for the final phases of Miss Virtual World, but I am about to! I met Lyrical Bizarre as a part of the 2013 2Lei event as well. I was honored to model a one of a kind gown for her, sold at auction. It was a new experience for me, and introduced me to a wonderful new friend.
Another friend whose support in Miss Virtual World has been amazing is the uber talented Wicca Merlin! She has been a model I have enjoyed watching and learning from. I was thrilled to be asked to blog for her and she often gives Geths and I a reason to “fashion” together which I enjoy very much. I cannot thank Lyrical and Wicca enough for their support and efforts on my behalf through the closing phases of Miss Virtual World 2015.
LUSH by CoCo is a designer I enjoy for their bold and sexy designs and I have enjoyed being a part of their blogger team very much.
ND Wingback Jumpsuit available at Sneek Peek for L$200.
Sexy Sundaara! I love that she is doing items for mesh bodies! The above is for the Physique and I LOVE IT. Can’t wait to put that on and shoot something smexy! Zaara and I know each other from our work as management for SCALA. I love her take on things and she has been a wonderful sounding board for all things MVW.
Last but not least, we have the very talented Madrid Solo. I have been enchanted by her work since I was told about her as a new model. I swear I must own everything she has in her store (or very nearly all of it) and when Spirit put on Facebook that Madrid was looking for bloggers I had to apply. I was thrilled to make the cut! Above is one of her latest designs, “Grace.”
Thank you for making it all the way through my rather long post. I just had to reflect on my Rez Day and show my appreciation to all the designers and friends who have supported and encouraged me along the way!
On a Silly closing note I have to say that this post has felt a bit like “Silly’s Favorite Things”…you know kinda like Oprah does… *chuckles*
