I just loved how this sexy clutch from Loordes of London fit on my Slink hand and the detail of it…I was so pleased my camera could catch it.

“I believe in love and lust and sex and romance. I don’t want everything to add up to some perfect equation. I want mess and chaos. I want someone to go crazy out of his mind for me. I want to feel passion and heat and sweat and madness. I want valentines and cupids and all of that crap. I WANT IT ALL”

Hello Readers!

For a while now I have been thinking on how I want my blog to be.  I am very grateful to the sponsors I have and I have been pondering retiring from “sponsored” blogging.  This has nothing at all to do with Sasy Scarbough’s recent blog post about different classifications of bloggers, but rather something that has been on my mind for a while and my sis Liat could attest to that!

I am a relative newcomer to the SL modeling scene.  While my avatar is just over 6 years old, I only began my journey last summer.  I have enjoyed the ride thus far and have learned a great deal of things from a great deal of amazing people.

Blogging was always something I wanted to do in my real life, but never quite found the reason to do so.  Once again SL made something possible for me that I had not been able to do in RL. It gave me a reason  to blog and I joined the ranks of countless SL fashion bloggers.

I could easily name many well known SL models that I look up to, but that really isn’t my point here.  I am working to evolve my blog…make it a blend of fashion and who I am…the person behind the avatar.  I have followed a great deal of blogs, I have my favorites and my Bloglovin overwhelms me with the large numbers of posts both inspiring and not so inspiring.  I learn from them all.  I am confident in saying that the blogger I admire most is Caoimhe Lionheart. I love the way she blends fashion and feelings.  Her posts inform and amuse almost always leave me smiling and nodding.  I can only hope to work toward being the sort of blogger she is.

So why consider retiring from “sponsored” blogging?  Honestly it is the pressure.  I did not sign on with designers/events that I don’t enjoy.  With my very full RL and very full SL I worry that I disappoint the designers/events with my inability to blog as quickly or as often as they might like.  Retiring from sponsored blogging would eliminate this stress.  I did not begin blogging for the hand outs.  Nariko and Liat can certainly confirm that I have no issue buying things!

For now I remain undecided, and do my very best, as my very wise modeling instructor told me and I always repeat to myself…All you can do is your very best.

UPDATE: Since the posting of this blog it has been made known that the person behind the avatar Eva Luxury did not pass away in real life.  I will not elaborate on the circumstances around this situation as I don’t care to, nor do I care to voice any feeling on the matter one way or the other.  All I wish to say is that I do not regret my post and the feelings that motivated it were real, despite everything else.  My post as follows remains unchanged. ~Prisilla

Dear Readers,

This is not a fashion post.  This is me, sharing a bit of who I am with you.

As many of you already know, the SL fashion world lost one of its brightest stars in the real life death of Eva Luxury.  I will not profess to have been one of her friends because I wasn’t.  I never got to know her like others did.  I had seen her a few times on the grid, been in a few competitions with her, followed her blog, and watched her as a part of the Miss Virtual World pageant. I was stunned and saddened to hear of her loss earlier today. I knew there would be an outpouring of love and sorrow from those who new and loved her and I was not mistaken.

I was surprised to find how deeply her death touched me. I have been thinking on why that is all day long.  My sweet SL sis Liat Reina jumped into grief counselor mode with me earlier to help me sort my feelings.  I have to say I have been fortunate to not have lost many in my RL or SL and I am tremendously grateful for that. Last year my school lost its namesake and my husband lost his mother within days of each other. I did not fall apart.  I knew our namesake on a friendly level, and my mother-in-law and I did not always get along.  It wasn’t until some time after both funerals when someone asked me how I felt about it all that I really allowed myself to feel their loss.  I did my part as an educator at my school to be there for others, and I did my part as a wife to be there for my husband and his family. Prior to these two events I have had no meaningful experiences with death and I am certainly not looking for more.  I have also had my own medical scare that left me wondering what really happens after death as I have fallen in and out of various religious beliefs.

Death upsets me more than I can comprehend and I find myself extremely moved at the loss of Eva and reliving the previous losses I have suffered and being forced to face the fact that death is a reality that we cannot escape.  SL is an escape, SL is where we go to do and be things we cannot in RL.  Every once in a while death interrupts, and prior to Eva’s passing I never had someone I knew in SL pass away (I have been in SL for 6 years), although I have known of people passing away, this time was just different.  This time it was closer to the part of SL I am so actively a part of and those I know and care about.

From what I knew of Eva she was most certainly a rising star and to see her gone, upsets me deeply.  My heart goes out to her RL and SL family and friends.

I rarely express my opinion or feelings on an issue on this blog.  Perhaps this is the beginning of me using my blog in more ways than just to highlight the latest fashions.  As a writer I felt driven to express myself in print, to release all the ideas in my mind and weighing on my heart.

As always I appreciate you taking the time to read my blog.

One Billion Rising

Hello Readers,

A sweet designer friend of mine (who wishes to remain nameless) shared her passion for a cause with me recently that I am compelled to pass on.

(click the image above to be directed to the OBR in SL website for more details)

What is One Billion Rising? (taken from the OBR in SL website)

ONE BILLION RISING began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS.

ONE BILLION RISING FOR JUSTICE is a call to women, men, and youth around the world to gather safely on 14 February 2014 outside places where they are entitled to justice – court houses, police stations, government offices, school administration buildings, work places, sites of environmental injustice, military courts, embassies, places of worship, homes, or simply public gathering places where women deserve to feel safe but too often do not.

In 2013, one billion women and men shook the earth through dance to end violence against women and girls.

This year, on 14 February 2014 we are calling on women and men everywhere to harness their power and imagination to rise for justice.

Imagine, one billion women releasing their stories, dancing and speaking out at the places where they need justice, where they need an end to violence against women and girls.

This isn’t a fundraising event, it is an event to raise awareness about ending violence against women.

Please visit the OBR in SL website for a schedule of events and how you can join in.  Events kick off Friday, February 14th.

Tainted Love

Hello Readers!

I am back with some more Dead Dollz, along with new {MUA} and a lil bit of Fantasy Gacha Carnival!

First off I have a wonderful new gown by Kiddo Oh called “Tainted Love” available exclusively for the Valentine’s Day event sponsored by Katiuscia Vollmar, owner of K.V Dream Fashion Agency.  You can read more about the festivities going on now through February 16th by clicking here.

The scene above isn’t likely one chosen for anything “Valentine” themed, but it spoke to me.  I am not one for the overly romantic in real life and when I visited Gates of Destiny, the barren beauty of the place captured my attention and ultimately reminded me of what my RL surrounds are very much like.  For as much as I complain about the dreadful heat we can get here in the summers, there is certainly a beauty in the land.

I have added to the amazing beauty of the Tainted Love gown by wearing the HUD controlled .aisling. GAIA – Necklace Gold (RARE) – available NOW at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival.

The reverse of this necklace is as breathtaking as the front and I would be remiss not to share it!

Further enhancing the look is one of the latest releases by Shanty Bookmite of {MUA}, “Valentine.”
