Happy Halloween

Hello Readers!

By the time many of you read this you would have already had your Halloween festivities…for those of you who partake.  I had not planned on a Halloween post as I am not hugely into Halloween myself.  I have to admit that Halloween in SL was a blast though, the most fun I have had on a Halloween in a long time.  I think I prefer the ease of dressing up my avatar over having to do it for real!

But I digress.  The inspiration for this Halloween themed post was a wonderful VIP gift from Dead Dollz.  They are my newest favorite designer.  I fell in love with one of their gowns from AVENUE’s Fall/Winter 2013 Fashion Week and you will get to see just which one once Pam Astonia has finished my recent photos (no rush Pam! xo).  So after I styled for that shoot I joined the Dead Dollz VIP group and got this lovely Halloween gown from Kiddo Oh.  I was intrigued when it turns out she puts out challenges to her VIPs to use her gown in photos that tell a story of some kind.  Here is the text of her most recent challenge:

“Amata Immortale is a beautiful white gown made with soft silky feathers… but, apparently, something terrible has happened to it… and to the woman who was wearing it….
What’s the story behind this gown??
Who knows it?.. Maybe you… Take a pic to tell the story of the unfortunate Amata Immortale. You can add your pics to the “Show Your Dead Dollz Style” Flickr group or send me a full perms copy of the pic (1024×1024) inworld for a chance to win 2000L$ in store credit and 2000L$ in cash.
I can’t wait to see what your little twisted minds can come up with, but remember, you have to tell a story.

Best shoots will be displayed in a slideshow at the entrance of the store.
Entries deadline November, 5th.”

It was supposed to be her night.  She had played it all out in her mind, confident it would be the outcome.  She would be crowned the Beauty of the Ball, but when that didn’t happen, they all paid the price.

a touch more fantasy…

Hello Readers!

As October comes to a close, so does the Fantasy Gacha Carnival.  If you haven’t been yet, you still have to the 31st, so get on over there!  Today in honor of my SL sis Liat, I am sharing some Roawenwood with a hint of Stitched Gods

(click photos to enlarge)

Fantasy RW 2_001eThe corset I am wearing is “.{5&20}. Huntress Corset in Brown/Granite” by the clothing division of Roawenwood called “Five & Twenty.” It comes not only in the version I am wearing but in several other variations, depending on how lucky you are. The items I am sitting on in all the photos are attachments by Roawenwood you wear so you can sit anywhere you like!  (“The Noble’s Grand Stool” is shown above). As a role player this sort of thing comes in handy when you would like to sit, and the ground or other furniture isn’t appealing, or available!  I have always enjoyed the ability to attach a favorite chair of mine and sit where I like. They have their uses out of role play as well…no matter where you go in SL you will have a place to sit, rez rights or not!  They come in a few different colors, have a nice options for sit poses, and come in male and female versions.  On the whole I found them to be very well made and versatile.

Fantasy RW_001eThe crown I am wearing is “Alfheim Crown LEGENDARY” by Stitched Gods. I loved the whimsical feel of it. It has an awesome color change HUD so you can match every part of it to pretty much any outfit. My seating in the above photo is Roawenwood’s “Roustabouts Roost.”

Fantasy RW_004eLastly I am seated on Roawenwood’s “The Patricians Grand Stool – Red.” This one is much like the one in my first image, however it has a rich fur, and a tray of luxuries like fruit, bread, cheese and wine.  Do be sure to get to the Fantasy Gacha Carnival before it is gone, many great items like these await you!

As always, thank you for reading!

Prisilla Von Teese?

Hello Readers!

I am having so much fun taking better snapshots and getting comfy with GIMP that I have to continue to share some looks with you.  Presently I am a part of the Miss Vero Modero contest.  My recent new photos by Magissa Denver kicked off the process as the 1st round of the contest was a photo in a bathing suit or lingerie to demonstrate our photogenicness (now that may not actually be a word, but I like it so its a keeper).  I am happy to report I made the first cut (in the top ten no less!) and entered into the second round, a runway challenge.  I LOVE the runway and wish I could get on more of them (hint hint), but I am working it, attempting to pay my modeling dues by throwing my hat into the modeling ring as much as my self esteem (and RL work schedule) can handle.  So the 2nd round of the Vero Modero contest was styling two looks: “Androgen” and “Dita Von Teese.”  I enjoyed styling both, but apparently Bouquet Babii (the owner and designer behind Vero Modero) was picking her favorite mix and match stylings to bundle and feature in her store.  I was thrilled to learn she chose my Dita Von Teese styling as one she would like to feature!  So I have to share it with you of course!

Maxi Gossamer’s Black Widow Spider

Hello Readers!

Yesterday was a rather exciting day for me in SL for a few reasons, but the one I wanted to blog about today was getting to meet Maxi Gossamer.

I have blogged her things a few times before and have gushed about how much I love them. As I was styling for the “Sinner” blog post, Maxi opens up group chat and announces that she was having an impromptu Buy One Get One free (BOGO) event.  Of course I dropped what I was doing to go see and dragged my sis Liat along (which wasn’t hard, she loves Maxi too).  The requirement to the BOGO was to come by the store and say hello to Maxi, buy an item then notecard the transaction and hand her that notecard  along with an item of hers for equal or lesser value to get for free.  I was so indecisive!  I paced the store and cammed the store and couldn’t make up my mind.  There were so many people there that I neglected to notice that Maxi was indeed sitting in the middle of her store.  I did stop to say hello and she loved my Sinner styling.  Not only did I get to meet a SL fashion celebrity, she liked my styling!  I was thrilled.  She approved of my styling so much she gave me the jewelry I am blogging about right now… (Thank you Maxi!)

MG Aracnid_002eI am wearing Maxi Gossamer‘s Black Widow earrings, necklace and bracelets.  She has an awesome 50% off sale going on her Halloween items so if you don’t have them you should get right over there!

MG Aracnid_003eI just adore the detail of Maxi’s work.

MG Aracnid_004e

I am also wearing a the Dory Corset that is a gacha item for the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, going on all month long and closing on October 31st.  It is by On A Lark, and comes in a variety of colors, and has two additional pieces I am not wearing in my photos…a strap and a hood.

For the info about my skin and hair, please see my previous post.

Thanks for reading!

Hello Readers!

I have been seeing several creepy Halloween looks on my blog feed.  I am not at all into gore, and I am feeling the spirit of the season so I thought I would share this look with you.  My take on Halloween.

(I do have to say I am LOVING my new machine and learning to take better photos.  I hope you can see the difference!  I am still working on learning GIMP so bear with me.  Helpful comments/suggestions are always welcome!)

Fantasy October_003eI had been quite aware about the Body Modification Expo going on thanks to all of my blog reading.  It wasn’t until I saw the skin from Glam Affair and the hair from Tableau Vivant (they are bundled, though you can purchase each separately) that I knew I had to get there ASAP.  What an event!  I did my fair share of shopping, as much of what was there suited my October spirit wonderfully.  I expect you will see a lot of those items in my upcoming posts.

Fantasy October_004eI had gotten so many wonderful items from the designers participating in the Fantasy Gacha Carnival that I had to blog another of the items as the event is still running through October 31st.  I am wearing the Crow Witch gown and necklace from Black Pearls.  It also comes in fire, earth, air, and water.  I am wearing the rare version in black.

Fantasy October_007eI LOVE these claws and have been looking for a reason to wear them.  I had picked them up for a styling challenge then felt they were overkill so I edited them out.  This outfit felt perfect for them.  They are called “Sinner’s Hands” by Ugly & Beautiful Designs.

Fantasy October_010eLast but not least we have this amazing tattoo.  It came from the Body Modification Expo of course.  It is from one of my long time favorites LOULOU&CO, and is called MELOPEE.

Here is a more simple listing of the items worn for this look: (Most were linked above, if not, please check my SLurls page.)

skin > Glam Affair – Neva – Bodymodification Exclusive

gown & necklace > Black Pearls_Crow [Queen]

My Fall

Hello Readers!

It has been a bit longer than I would have liked, but some things cannot be helped.  I am happy to share I have a new system now so…yay me!  I am looking forward to maximizing it.

Today I bring you some recent releases from the lovely Romy Dash of Marshmallows.  I love the fall/winter in my area.  Southern California never gets truly cold where I am, but there is a nip in the air which means I actually get to bundle up a lil!  The recent releases of Romy’s made me think of a Southern California fall…a long sleeved comfy turtle neck, and then super short shorts and funky sandals.  This look really said fall in SoCal to me!  Enjoy!

I am really loving these sandals right now…I rarely take them off!  They do come with a color change HUD so it is really like you have at least 3 pairs of shoes instead of just one.
