Strawberry Singh’s “Why do I blog?” Meme

  1. How long have you been blogging? Gosh I don’t even know.  I have been blogging for years…mainly about RL, but I have always been rather inconsistent.
  2. Why did you start blogging? I enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts on just about anything whether anyone is listening or not.  I had kept several journals as a youth, so a blog was just the next generation of a journal.  Perhaps it is the exhibitionist in me that doesn’t mind others reading my personal thoughts. 😉
  3. How many times a week do you post an entry? Once if I am so inspired.  I typically only blog a few times a month, but I would like to more often.  I find blogging cathartic and an outlet for creativity. This blog (Strawberry’s) has helped me to bog more often and I love it.  Even hooked up with the SL Blogger support group for continued motivation.  Thanks for the help Strawberry! 🙂
  4. How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis? I have gotten better about reading the blogs of others.  I read on average about 5 other blogs regularly at the moment and I foresee that number going up.
  5. Do you comment on other people’s blogs? Yes if I am so motivated.
  6. Do you keep track of how many visitors you have? No because it doesn’t really matter to me.  I glance at the lil dot graph at the top of WP, but that is about it.  I would check my stats more if I was blogging for more than just me…like if I had a sponsor or a designer I was writing for which I would like to do, but my computer’s ability to take high quality photos keeps me from really pursuing that.  I am looking into what my machine can handle tho!
  7. Did you ever regret a post that you wrote? No.  I censor myself a lot so if a post passes my internal filter and makes it to a published post then there it is!
  8. Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog? I think they have a general sense of who I am based on what I have written.  The only way to get a true sense of me would be to meet me.
  9. Do you blog under your real name?  Not on this blog no, but I do have other blogs under my real name for personal and professional use.
  10. Are there topics that you would never blog about? Yes.  I always try to be considerate of others and would not post anything derogatory in any way.  I adhere to “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all” and “Treat others the way you wish to be treated.”
  11. What is the theme/topic of your blog? The theme of my blog is simply “Being Silly” aka being me in Second Life, where ever my adventures take me.  At the moment they have taken me into modeling and I am enjoying that very much.
  12. Do you have more than one blog? If so, why? See # 9 🙂
  13. What have you found to be the benefits of blogging? I have found it is an excellent medium for self expression.  I have enjoyed it more now that I have married it to SL and reading the blogs and experiences of other SLers.  It has enhanced my virtual experience over all.
  14. So, why do you continue to blog? My blog is my journal…a place where I can talk to myself or others if they are so interested.  Welcome to my thoughts! 🙂

  1. Just have to say- there needs to be more silly. People take SL SO SERIOUS some of them and well… as I said many a year ago, I refuse to take anywhere seriously where someone can be named ‘Analbead String’ and where my male coworker at a gay strip club can turn up for work heavily pregnant. Laugh, you’ll enjoy it more!

    • Thank you for the comment Nath! I enjoy reading your blog and running into you inworld randomly is always a treat. Your comment about names cracks me up because I know just what you mean. I have seen quite a variety of names in SL in my time. I love laughter, life is boring without it! 😀
