I am often invited to judge Mr. & Miss Virtual World challenges…and that is not a brag or anything, just something I enjoy doing. As a model who had put herself out there to be judged by others on many occasions, I feel my experiences make me qualified to fairly judge others who are putting themselves out there in competitions. I am always flattered to be asked and always look forward to going. I take care in making sure I am presentable. As a former Miss, I firmly believe I have a standard to uphold. So when looking for something of quality to wear, it is no surprise that I default to Wicca’s Wardrobe. As any who know me or read my blog at all, Wicca is a longtime friend of mine and while we have not made an official SL relationship out of it, I consider her a sister. She and her man Red made my country costume when I was competing in 2015 and I LOVED it. So Wicca and MVW still go hand in hand for me. Besides, while Wicca has no “Face of Wicca’s Wardrobe” or anything, I know I am the Wicca’s Wardrobe Runway Princess! One of the other things I enjoy about judging MVW events is seeing friends that I don’t always see…like Pam Astonia! Pammy cracks me up and is just so talented and lovely…chatting with her is always a perk of judging!

I don’t get to blog much anymore, due to a variety of SL and RL reasons, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to! I was a roleplayer in SL long before I was a model and I still rp in SL, though on different avatars. The image above is me in one of my rp avatars wearing the latest from Wicca’s Wardrobe and I just had to share it. I am wearing Nimue on my Maitreya body which is available at the current round of WE❤ RP. It comes with arm sleeves I am not wearing in the photo and a great color changing HUD that gives me all sorts of color options.
Hope your SL is fabulous!
It has been far too long since I have posted…RL is funny like that. My doctoral program is in full swing, I have changed jobs in RL, I am trying to exercise more, and when I am in SL it is typically for projects that interest me, like my work with SCALA. That is what prompted me to ‘journal’ today…that is what this blog is really…my online journal of my virtual life. I realized too much is going by undocumented because I am too busy to document. But am I really? Shouldn’t I be able to take the time to publicly journal my experiences and perhaps engage in a dialog with those who care to read it and comment?
Today SCALA Models Agency pulled off an amazing show in celebration of Windlight Magazine‘s birthday. It was a learning experience from start to finish and not without its stresses, but I was constantly impressed at how those I worked with on this project worked together to make it a success. Once the show was underway I was certainly feeling the pressure to cue the models in a timely manner and remain calm no matter what. The models we had on the runway are consummate professionals and they performed beautifully. Due to last moment technical issues I had to take over a walk for one of the models and in all the time I have spent in and producing runway shows, I have never had to walk the runway and cue at the same time. I have to admit that doing so gave me new model jitters all over again, but it was surreal to be in the moment. I of course did just fine, but I have to say that by the end of that show I was feeling the model high I am sure many of the model/producers who may be reading this get when a show is over and it was executed successfully. It was a relief and a thrill all at once. It warmed my heart to see that the adjective that dominated the post show reactions was AMAZING. It has been a long time since I have worked on a project of this magnitude and it was certainly very gratifying to see it come together and be so well received. I am of course not taking all of the credit, I alone could never have done something like this. The models of course were phenomenal, but those behind the scenes were equally so.

Since I rarely get to take photos anymore, I thought I would snap a couple of the two outfits I was fortunate to wear. The first is Wicca’s of course. Not only is Wicca Merlin a top notch SL model and my unofficial mentor, she is a brilliant designer and a dear friend. I cued and walked at the same time for her and for that I say THANK YOU! I don’t even mean that sarcastically…Wicca has pushed me in a variety of subtle ways over the time I have known her and this was no different. I love you Wicca Merlin!! ♥
Me wearing the dress Wicca created for me as a part of my run in Miss Virtual World 2015, the Prisilla Dress along with the Josephine Hat and Seraphina Heels…all reimagined in fuchsia for ACHROMATIC.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and indulging my need to share and praise those involved in this project. You can find what I am wearing along with all the other amazing designs for the show at the ACHROMATIC Boutique, open now and for a while as Windlight celebrates is birthday. Happy Birthday Windlight Magazine and thank you for asking SCALA to be a part of your celebrations!
I have been a busy bee in and out of SL. Life is good, no complaints here, though I do miss blogging regularly. Today I had one of those blogging opportunities and had to capitalize on it. With all the activity in my lives right now, it is a challenge to get those quiet times where I can just be creative…those are times I need in order to style and blog with any decency at all. After a morning of some styling I scratched my creative itch. Sadly it wasn’t for anything I could share on my blog, as it was a casting styling, but trust me if I am not selected I will show everyone! At the tail end of the process I had one of my newest friends in SL come into my ims. I have to say that after 8 years in SL I am always pleased when I can make new friends. This particular friend is a pose maker. I had just bought ALL his poses before meeting him (thanks Miele Tarantal) and once we had met we hit it off like we had been pals for years. I love when that happens. In our initial conversation, after I had fangirled all over his ims praising his poses and witty names of them (I love clever people), Chance Greatrix of DARE poses promised me his next pose sets on the house. I was thrilled, but I would never expect him to really do that. Not that he is dishonest in anyway, but I don’t mind paying for quality items in SL. I have had many fun conversations with Chance since that initial chat, so I thought there would be more fun banter when he came into my ims today…but instead there were gifts! Chance has two new pose sets out…Flowy and Face Hands. So here I am in Flowy 5, falling fashionably into bed! Thanks Chance! I hope your poses are already set up in your store because I am telling folks about them!
Here is an example of why Chance’s poses crack me up. I have seen A LOT of poses in my time, but never one called “Imma Burrito!” LOL!
Thanks for reading!
Southern California doesn’t get all that cold, but when it does it is lovely. Today as I blog this it is blustery, gray and cold…perfect bundling up kind of weather. It made me want to blog this wintery look I styled the other day.
